Get ready for a Lorde summer.
As the Green Light singer prepares to release her first new music in almost four years, she’s been making some rare public outings, including a recent courtside appearance at a New York Knicks game.
While walking into Madison Square Garden to cheer on the local NBA team this Monday evening, Lorde showed off her sporty side in an electric polo from Balenciaga, which fittingly came in the same royal blue as the Knicks’ team colour. And while she didn’t rep any vibrant orange (the team’s other hue), the coral-pink stripes that decorated her top weren’t too far off.
For the rest of her fit, the Grammy winner kept things comfy, sporting a pair of dark-wash barrel leg jeans and black leather flats, while adding an earthy contrast to her look with an army-green handbag that she slung across her shoulder. As for accessories, Lorde stacked on some silver chain bracelets and a necklace to match, as well as some large statement rings.
It appears to be somewhat of a tradition for Lorde to go to a Knicks game around the release of a new album, because she was last seen courtside back in 2021, not long after she dropped her third studio album, Solar Power.
New York has been a central player amidst the singer’s fourth album rollout. When she teased her upcoming track, What Was That (which comes out this Friday, 25 April), Lorde filmed a TikTok while walking through Washington Square Park, blasting the track and dancing along an empty sidewalk. A Big Apple-themed album, perhaps? We'll be listening.
