Denmark summoned the US’s acting ambassador to explain a report that the Trump administration is spying on Greenland as part of the president’s ambition to wrest control of the Arctic island from its European ally.
The summons from Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen followed a report on Wednesday by The Wall Street Journal, which cited anonymous sources, saying that the US will step up espionage efforts against the semi-autonomous Danish territory.
