Leaders from Poland and the three Baltic nations have called on the European Union to step up financial support for plans to reinforce their borders, the first line of defense on the bloc’s eastern flank.

In a letter to European Commission President Ursula Von Der Leyen and European Council President Antonio Costa sent on Friday and seen by Bloomberg News, the leaders cited an increased threat to the bloc and urged support with “all available EU instruments.”
