Nvidia is within striking distance of reclaiming the title of the biggest company in the world, following a rally that has added more than $1 trillion -- that's trillion with a T -- in less than two months. While it never quite went out of favor, the AI-focused chipmaker has faced a number of hurdles and questions that led to shares tumbling in the first months of the year. First, China's DeepSeek seemed to scramble the equation for how much money and chips might ultimately be needed to build out AI infrastructure. Then, growing concerns about whether AI was paying off for major companies raised the prospect that their spending may soon slow or reverse. Finally, the Trump administration's trade war and restrictions on selling some chips to China put another cloud over the outlook. While some of these issues remain and could flare up again, Nvidia has shown no signs of slowing down. Growth remains robust, capex from its biggest customers continues to rise, its technology continues to be seen as the gold standard, and deals with countries in the Middle East point to its ability to navigate a tricky geopolitical environment and find new markets. It's hard to find many Nvidia bears today, as the pace of the company's growth has kept the valuation in check, making it the cheapest Magnificent Seven name in terms of its PEG ratio.
