Happy Friday, everyone, and welcome back to Soundbite. Between Tribeca, Indie Week and what’s unofficially been dubbed as music publishing week, the last few days have been a whirlwind. Lots of happy hours, lots of conversations and lots to think about as the summer progresses. Today, I’m coming to you with a dispatch from the music industry about the current narrative on the streaming services. Spoiler alert: things aren’t all simpatico.

To get in touch, email me, and if you aren’t already subscribed to this newsletter, please do so here. Also, some quick housekeeping, we’ll likely send this newsletter again on Friday next week because of the holiday, and then we’ll take some time off and return the week of July 7.
