Kenya Police Boss Steps Down for Murder Probe Amid Protests

Kenya’s Deputy Inspector General Eliud Lagat agreed to “step aside” to allow for a probe to be carried out into the death of a man while in police custody.

The move may help diffuse tensions in the East African nation, where citizens had been expected to hold protests Tuesday demanding Lagat’s resignation.
